“Two Realities”

Facilitator: Daniel Weiss

This video expresses a collective longing for dignity, belonging, structural equality, and cultural recognition — and a profound fear that without true transformation, museums will continue to keep Deaf people at a distance, across the sea, behind the castle walls, or on the wrong side of the tracks.

All three voices show some hesitation:

  • Will museums really change?
  • Will hearing structures accept Deaf authority?
  • Will access be permanent or temporary?
  • Will sign language be respected?

They believe equality is possible
but they’ve been disappointed before.

Their tone is firm, hopeful, but protective.
